Meet Darin McGaw
We are thrilled to highlight Darin McGaw, who has dedicated an impressive 33 years to Washington County Community College. As the Lead for the Academic Affairs Department, he has significantly contributed to the development and management of our matriculated programming for associate and certificate degrees. His dedication and expertise are instrumental in shaping the educational landscape at WCCC. Within his capacity at WCCC, he oversees crucial components of the institution, including The Teaching and Learning Center for Excellence, and The Institutional Research Department. Through these responsibilities, he plays a pivotal role in enhancing the academic experience and supporting student success across a wide spectrum of educational initiatives.
What Darin Enjoys Most About His Role
Darin truly enjoys the people he works with, as well as the students he interacts with every day. His favorite part of the job? Graduation Day. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing smiling faces of students as they walk across the stage, and Darin feels honored to be a small part of their journey to success.
Outside Of Work
Darin has a “Do It Yourself” mindset and loves hands-on tasks. Whether it’s carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work, he’s a true jack of all trades! At home, he enjoys working on projects and appreciates the satisfaction that comes with completing a task on his own. He also finds that his passion for these hands-on skills aligns with the mission of WCCC, a place that teaches students the trades and empowers them to become masters of their craft.

Darin’s Connection to Washington County
Darin was born and raised in the area; he values his deep-rooted connection to Washington County. He expresses gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the community through his work at WCCC, understanding the backgrounds and aspirations of the students he serves. As Darin looks ahead, his goal is to have a happy retirement, but he’s not quite ready to step away from teaching entirely. He hopes to continue contributing to the education field, possibly as an adjunct instructor, sharing his knowledge and passion with the next generation of students.
