Staff Spotlight – Elise Jensen

Elise Jensen, Executive Assistant to the President & Human Resources
Meet Elise Jensen
We’re excited to spotlight Elise, a member of the Washington County Community College team who keeps the college running smoothly behind the scenes. Since joining WCCC in November 2024, Elise has brought creativity, humor, and an unmistakable presence to her role — along with exceptional organizational skills and a candy bowl that has achieved campus-wide fame.
A Day in Elise’s Role
Elise supports the daily operations of the college in many ways. She manages job postings and applications, schedules and participates in interviews, completes background checks, and oversees onboarding for new employees. She also assists staff with benefits questions and prepares contracts for adjunct faculty, faculty overload courses, student work-study positions, and special service contractors.
Elise additionally schedules meetings for President Mingo and Senior Leadership, and coordinates logistics for special events, along with many other duties as assigned.
What She Loves Most About WCCC
Elise loves the WCCC mission and the work the college does in support of students and the community. Most of all, she values the people she gets to work with every day and the strong sense of connection across campus.
Three Words to Describe Elise
Artistic, Loud, and Generous.
Outside of Work
Elise is a voracious reader and creates as much art as she can. She also has an impressive strength background — at one point deadlifting nearly 400 pounds. These days, that strength is mostly used to push her 115-pound dog off her lap.
Looking Toward the Future
Elise is currently collaborating with John Leavitt and Becca Tucker to create a Little Free Library in Riverview Hall, giving students and staff a welcoming space to take, leave, and share books.
Fun Fact
Ilona Maher is Elise’s cousin — and yes, it turns out you can fangirl over your own family. (Seriously…Google her.)
Thank You, Elise!
