Staff Spotlight – Katie Erskine

Katie Erskine, Coordinator of Admissions & Marketing
Meet Katie Erskine
We’re proud to spotlight Katie, who has worked at Washington County Community College for almost 2 years. A proud WCCC alumna, Katie brings both personal experience and creative vision to her work, helping prospective students see WCCC as the place where their future begins. Katie plays an essential role in connecting the college to the community, blending recruitment, outreach, and marketing to guide students from first interest through enrollment.
A Day in Katie’s Role
Katie travels to recruitment events, college fairs, and high school visits to meet prospective students and guide them through the admissions process. On campus, she facilitates tours and often becomes the first friendly face students meet at WCCC. On the marketing side, Katie collaborates with faculty and staff to showcase WCCC’s academic programs through photography, videography, and storytelling. She creates advertising across print, digital, radio, and television platforms to highlight opportunities available at WCCC. From outreach to enrollment, Katie helps students feel confident, informed, and excited about taking their next step.
What She Loves Most About WCCC
For Katie, the best part of her job is connecting with students and helping them imagine what’s possible after high school. As a former WCCC student, she understands how powerful the right start can be. Beginning at WCCC allowed her to explore her options, build confidence, and eventually transfer to Husson University, where she completed her bachelor’s degree. She is currently working toward her master’s degree, continuing her commitment to growth and learning. That journey shaped her passion for guiding others as they create their own success stories.
Three Words to Describe Katie
Driven, Curious, and Intentional.
Outside of Work
Outside the office, Katie prioritizes balance and self-growth. She enjoys working out and staying active as part of her daily routine. Katie also details cars on the side, something she’s been doing every summer since 2017. This hobby/passion reflects her discipline, attention to detail, and love for hands-on work. Adventurous and goal-oriented, Katie dreams of traveling to all 50 states and beyond. She and a close friend are currently tackling a “30 Before 30” list filled with new challenges and meaningful experiences. Katie also shares a piece of advice she’s learned along the way that finding the gap is often the best way to see things differently. When you go looking for something and can’t find it, that’s your opportunity to create it. Learn from what others are doing but pay attention to what’s missing and use that to make your work stand out.
Looking Toward the Future
Katie’s goal is to continue expanding WCCC’s outreach through creative, authentic, and student-centered marketing. By combining storytelling with recruitment, she hopes to strengthen connections with future students and show that WCCC is a powerful place to begin any journey or a place to return to when you’re ready for a fresh start. Katie believes that growth never truly ends; rebranding and reinventing yourself is part of life, and learning is a lifelong process.
Thank You, Katie!
