Washington County Community College Celebrates Three Athletes Named to the USCAA Women’s Division II National All-Academic Basketball Team
Calais, ME – Washington County Community College (WCCC) is proud to announce that three student-athletes have been selected for the prestigious 2024-2025 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women’s Division II National All-Academic Basketball Team. This honor recognizes the dedication, hard work, and excellence of student-athletes who excel both on the court and in the classroom.
The following athletes from WCCC’s first-year Women’s Basketball Team have been named to the USCAA Women’s Division II National All-Academic Basketball Team:
- Ryleigh Andrews (Eastport, Me)
- Ashlee Morang (Pembroke, Me)
- Rianna Newman (Campobello, NB)
These remarkable athletes demonstrated exceptional academic achievement alongside their athletic performances, embodying the values of commitment, discipline, and academic excellence. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have completed a minimum of 24 credits at a USCAA institution.
“We are incredibly proud of Ryleigh, Ashlee, and Rianna for their hard work and determination both in the classroom and on the basketball court,” said WCCC Director of Athletics and Campus Engagement, Troy Alley. “Their dedication is a true testament to the student-athlete experience at Washington County Community College, and they serve as an inspiration to their peers.”

This prestigious recognition is awarded annually by the USCAA to athletes from across the country who display a combination of athletic excellence and scholastic achievement. The USCAA Women’s Division II National All-Academic Basketball Team honors the top student-athletes who show exceptional commitment to their education while competing in intercollegiate athletics.
